Following the colours first shown on the Ducati Desert X is the 2024 Ducati SuperSport 950 S, now coming in Ducati’s Stripe Livery. The SuperSport 950 S with new colours is expected in Ducati dealer showrooms in June, while for Malaysia, the 2022 Ducati Supersport 950 is priced at RM 115,900, while allocation of the Supersport 950 Stripe for Malaysia is expected in 2024. The Stripe colour scheme comprises of grey and Ducati Red bands set on a background of Iceberg White. This is a throwback to the Cagiva Elephant racing livery in the Paris-Dakar Rally of the 1980s, when cigarette advertising was still allowed.
Power for the SuperSport 950 S remains
unchanged, coming from a Ducati Testastretta 11 V-twin engine. With 937 cc, the
SuperSport 950 gets 110 hp at 9,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 93 Nm at 6,500
rpm. Although less hard-edged than the Panigale V2, the SuperSport 950
nevertheless comes with a full suite of riding aids. These include three ride
modes – Sport, Touring and Urban – and ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control,
Ducati Wheelie Control as well as a Ducati quickshifter.
For the SuperSport 950 S, standard
equipment is Ohlins suspension, with fully-adjustable 48 mm diameter
upside-down forks while the rear gets a fully-adjustable Ohlins monoshock
fitted to a single-sided swingarm. This gives 130 mm of suspension travel in
front and 144 mm at the back, providing a more comfortable ride. Brembo does
the braking with radial-mount four-piston M4.32 Monobloc callipers on 320 mm
discs on the front wheel with self-bleeding radial master cylinder. The rear
wheel gets a two-piston Brembo calliper clamping a 285 mm disc, while tyre
sizing is 120/70-17 front and 180/55-17 rear Pirellis.
Other equipment includes full LED lighting
with LED DRLs, manually-adjustable windshield, 4.3-inch TFT-LCD display and
passenger cowl. Fully fuelled with 16-litres in the tank, the SuperSport 950
tips the scales at 210 kg, while seat height is set at 810 mm.
