The all-electric Lancia Delta Evo-e RX set to compete in the 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship by Special ONE Racing has been revealed in full, taking inspiration from the iconic Delta Integrale models that once raced in the World Rally Championship featuring the iconic Martini colors. A pair of cars will be raced by legendary rally champion Sebastien Loeb and French rallycross driver Guerlain Chicherit. Interestingly, Chicherit’s GCK Motorsport is the company that has brought the Delta Evo-e RX to life.
Driving the all-electric Delta Evo-e RX
are a pair of electric motors each with 331 hp, combining to deliver 662 hp and
allowing the car to hit 100 km/h in a mere 1.8 seconds. The Evo-e RX
has very similar proportions to the original Lancia but is slightly wider and
more aggressive with a more pronounced front fascia and splitter. The Martini
livery ties everything together beautifully while features like the LED
headlights add a modern touch.
Loeb is returning to the top level of
rallycross competition for the first time in four years and had his first taste
in the car last year. GCK actually started racing the Delta Evo-e RX last year
with Chicherit behind the wheel but it didn’t have the striking Martini livery
then. For the 2023 season, a second car has been added to the line-up and it is
this second example that will be driven by Loeb. The season starts in Portugal
this weekend.
