Porsche is putting the finishing touches on the Macan EV, but we’re getting our first glimpse at the 2026 Cayenne EV. Spotted in mule form, the upcoming production model will look nothing like what you see here. That being said, the vehicle does give us a few hints about what to expect. At last year’s Capital Markets Day presentation, Porsche confirmed the Cayenne EV would ride on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) like the Macan EV. As a result, it’s not surprising to see the mule is based on its smaller counterpart.
However, we can see an assortment of
changes including extended fender flares that hint at a wider track. The mule
also sports a unique front bumper with a central sensor pod that is flanked by
sizable intakes. Spy photographers also noted the crossover has “larger and
wider wheels” than the Macan EV.
The interior carries over from the
Cayenne’s smaller counterpart and we can see a digital instrument cluster as
well as a widescreen infotainment system. Of course, we can expect a number of
changes by the time the electric crossover goes into production.
It’s too early to talk about performance
specifications, but the model will likely share a number of similarities with
the Macan EV. As a result, the crossover could have a roughly 100 kWh
lithium-ion battery pack as well as a dual motor all-wheel drive system with
around 603 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. We can also
expect 800-volt technology and relatively quick recharging times.
