Hennessey has unveiled a Roadster sibling to the Venom F5 Revolution hypercar and as far as droptops go, very few are as performance-focused as this. The car has been unveiled ahead of its public premiere at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week later this month. A suite of aerodynamic modifications immediately distinguishes the Venom F5 Revolution Roadster from the standard Venom F5 Roadster. As such, a much larger splitter is found up front alongside two canards on either side of the bumper. A new hood is also featured and Hennessey has also gone to the trouble of fitting a roof scoop that somewhat reminds us of the scoop used by the Pagani Zonda Cinque.
The most significant aero change is the
fitment of a sizeable rear wing and has large endplates on either side. A new
diffuser is also visible. Hennessey has also re-engineered the car’s roof when
compared to the standard model, making it out of carbon fiber composites so it
weighs just 8 kg, despite the underside being fully insulated and
adorned with Alcantara.
No changes have been made to the car’s
engine when compared to a regular Venom F5. That means the Venom F5 Revolution
Roadster continues to rock a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that pumps out a
ridiculous 1,817 hp and 1,167 Nm of torque. Mated to this engine
is a seven-speed single-clutch transmission driving the rear wheels. The
example heading to Monterey has been commissioned with a naked carbon fiber
finish and is one of just five ‘Bare Carbon’ models to be produced.
Just 12 examples of the Hennessey Venom F5
Revolution Roadster will be produced and despite prices starting at US$ 3 million,
all of them have been sold.
