The Ram 1500 TRX turned the truck segment on its head when it was introduced in 2020, but it’s being consigned to the history books as production is coming to an end this year. However, it’s not going quietly into the night as the company has introduced a new Final Edition. Designed to offer customers one last chance to “own a piece of automotive history,” the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition will be available in eight exterior colors including three unique ones called Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue, and Harvest Sunrise. They’re joined by bead-lock capable wheels with a Satin Titanium finish.
Moving inside, customers will find a
special splash screen, Patina contrast stitching, and seats with “TRX” logos on
the back rests. They’re joined by Triaxle-suede door panel inserts, a Satin
Titanium TRX badge on the passenger side, and an “ultra-premium center console
badge showcasing the build number.” Other highlights include matte carbon fiber
trim, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, a digital rearview
mirror, and a head-up display. Buyers will also find a host of driver
assistance systems including adaptive cruise control as well as blind-spot and
cross-path detection.
Like the standard model, the Final Edition
has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 pumping out 702 hp and 880 Nm of torque. It enables the truck to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 4.5 seconds, hit a top speed of 190 km/h, and run the
quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 174 km/h. The truck will be available
in the fourth quarter and pricing starts at US$ 117,625 before a US$ 1,995
destination fee. That’s not cheap and the model won’t be particularly rare as
Ram will build up to 4,000 units. While the high-performance truck is going
away, it likely won’t be gone for long as the company specified “production of
[the] current-generation Ram 1500 TRX” is coming to an end.
