Mitsubishi is gearing up for the cold Japanese winter with two new special editions of the Delica D:5 and Delica Mini models. The Chamonix trim is inspired by the Snow Survivor concepts that debuted at the 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon, adding adventurous style and some extra functionality for those who intend on using the Delica minivans off the beaten track. For 2024, the Mitsubishi Delica D:5 comes standard with a multi-around monitor, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and aluminum pedals. The Chamonix and Chamonix Complete are the new flagship trims, building on the high-spec P grade with exterior and interior modifications.
The Delica D:5 Chamonix is distinguished
by the black mica accents on the grille, headlights, mirrors, and door handles,
combined with a titanium grey metallic finish for the skid plates and black
18-inch aluminum wheels. There is also a Chamonix emblem on the front fenders
with a camouflage pattern. The Chamonix Complete Package adds more of this,
with larger decals covering the lower end of the profile. It also gets green
accents on the alloy wheels, mirror caps, and hood emblem reminiscent of
“coniferous trees that grow on snowy mountains”.
Interior upgrades include new upholstery
for the seats with a combination of water-repellent suede-like material and
synthetic leather. Those are decorated with silver stitching, which can also be
found on the door cards and the dashboard alongside wood-grain burl-heather
inserts. Moving on to the Mitsubishi Delica Mini which debuted earlier this
year, it benefits from two Chamonix packages. The base one adds the
characteristic green color on the emblems and alloy wheel inserts, alongside
camouflage pattern side decals and all-weather mats for the interior. Then
there is the Chamonix Complete Package adding a black garnish on the grille,
mud flaps, and a roof rack attachment that expands the cargo-carrying
capabilities of the kei car.
Sales of the Chamonix models will commence
on February 8 through Japanese dealers. The price for the Mitsubishi Delica D:5
Chamonix starts from ¥ 4,557,300 (US$ 30,467), while the Chamonix Complete package
costs an additional ¥ 260,370 (US$ 1,741). As for the Mitsubishi Delica Mini, the
Chamonix is a ¥ 179,190 (US$ 1,198) dealer option for current and future owners,
with an extra ¥ 142,010 (US$ 950) needed for the Chamonix Complete.
