Chinese automaker Venucia (co-founded between Dongfeng and Nissan) has presented V-Online, a crossover SUV running on hydrogen fuel cell tech. Per AutoHome, the company plans to mass-produce the car and offer it to everyone interested starting from 1,000,000 CNY (US$ 137,500).
The new energy vehicle comes with a
60-kilowatt fuel cell array on board, a BYD lithium-ferro-phosphate battery
pack and a single electric motor with 218 PS at the output
end. Once full, it can cover 500 km, and tanking up on hydrogen gas
only takes 5 minutes.
The local authorities permit driving the
hydrogen-powered Venucia V-Online in temperatures down to –40 ºC. Other than the powertrain, the crossover
SUV looks basically identical to its standard counterpart, with
only minor exterior design tweaks and the same cabin.
