The Decathlon Riverside 520 E is the latest electric mountain bike (eMTB) offering in the EU. The Decathlon Riverside 520 E has a low step-through frame that offers greater accessibility than a step-over frame. The model however comes with essentially the same components as the step-over model. The Decathlon 520 E step-over model was launched earlier in 2023.
The Decathlon Riverside 520 E is powered
by a 250W rear-wheel electric motor with a maximum torque of 42Nm and a top
assistance speed of 25 km/h. Customers can choose from four assistance modes
with the maximum range of the bike set at 100km. It has a 500Wh lithium-ion
battery and an 8-speed system. The Riverside 520 E eMTB is equipped with the SR
Suntour Nex SF19 suspension fork with 63mm travel and lockable springs. It also
features hydraulic disc brakes and tires sturdy enough for off-road riding, as
well as urban movement.
The Decathlon Riverside 520E is available
in three sizes S to L, unlike the four size options of the step-over model. The
maximum suggested rider height in the new Decathlon eMTB is 1.89 m. The lower
frame of the model allows the rider to easily mount the bike. The new Decathlon
step-through mountain bike has a backlit LCD which shows ride information and
remaining battery life. There is also an integrated USB port for charging your
phone while on the move.
The Decathlon Riverside 520 E electric
mountain bike is priced in the EU at € 1,399 (US$ 1,524). It can be purchased
directly via the Decathlon website. There is no global availability and pricing
information for the new Decathlon eMTB at this time. It is however expected to
land in some selected markets including the UK subsequently.
