Ford recently unveiled a new generation of its popular medium-sized van, the Transit Custom, and tuners wasted no time in capitalizing on the trend of sporty-looking light commercial vehicles (LCV). UK-based firm Motion R introduced their version of the van, which includes a carbon fiber body kit and interior upgrades. The highlight of the exterior is the redesigned front bumper, featuring a new and slightly slimmer grille similar to the Ford Mustang. This is combined with significantly larger bumper intakes and a splitter that wouldn’t look out of place in a fictional Transit Custom RS.

Other mods include the aerodynamic side skirts, the larger roof spoiler, and the new rear bumper with a prominent diffuser and twin oval tailpipes finished in matt black. Motion R’s Transit Custom rides on a new set of 20-inch forged monoblock alloy wheels shod in performance tires. Moving inside, Motion R added Nappa leather and Alcantara upholstery with contrasting stitching. The steering wheel is upgraded with perforated leather and carbon fiber, while the same lightweight material is used for inserts on the dashboard and door cards.

Besides the widely-available upgrades, Motion R unveiled the MC Edition (Master Craft) which is limited to 50 units. This one gains forged carbon treatment for the garnish around the grille and intakes, the splitter, the rear spoiler, and the diffuser, sending Mansory vibes. Furthermore, the interior features special badging, and dedicated storage compartments for boards, wetsuits, and other surfing equipment. The tuner doesn’t offer any performance upgrades, using the 2.0-liter EcoBlue turbodiesel with the factory 168 hp. However, we don’t see why the aforementioned upgrades wouldn’t be compatible with all versions of the Transit Custom including those with PHEV and BEV powertrains.

A visit to Motion R’s official website shows a trio of diesel-powered Ford Transit Custom MC Edition vans available for sale, priced at £ 59,795 (US$ 74,995), £ 63,495 (US$ 79,635), and £ 64,795 (US$ 81,265) respectively. For reference, the Transit Custom Combi starts from £ 35,905 (US$ 45,032) in the UK, although the base-spec van comes fitted with a less powerful diesel.
