Infiniti says that its research shows that audio systems that can “envelope and immerse” all of the passengers in a luxury SUV is a high priority for customers. In order to give them what they’re asking for, it will become the first automaker to put Klipsch audio equipment in a premium SUV. That vehicle will be the 2025 QX80, which Infiniti plans to fully unveil later this year. In the meantime, it has revealed today at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 that the SUV will be offered with an optional 24-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere Audio System.

The system features titanium tweeters, a high-performance eight-inch “TriPower” subwoofer, and a 24-channel amplifier. Infiniti says it worked directly with Klipsch audio experts to integrate the system into the QX80. It teases that the collaboration has allowed it to develop new audio technologies for the SUV, but says it will only reveal those in the coming months.

Infiniti is hoping to renew its image to stay relevant in the premium automotive segment, and the QX80 will lead that charge. Previewed with the QX Monograph concept at Pebble Beach last summer, the big, boxy SUV has powerful proportions, simple elegant design, and the team behind it says it will define the brand’s design language in the coming years.

The QX Monograph concept features a massive grille inspired by the crisscrossing stalks of a bamboo forest, a massive panoramic sunroof to offer occupants plenty of natural light, interesting new lighting elements, and more.
