The popularity of recreational vehicles has been on the rise during the past few years, as more people are discovering the beauty of living off the grid. Following the trend, AC Future presented the eTH – a fully electric concept designed by Pininfarina with expandable walls that convert it into a luxurious living area and a mobile workspace. The AC Future eTH stands for “Electric Transformer House” which is a great way to describe the essence of the EV. The boxy-shaped exterior features a clean yet modern styling with slim LEDs and a bus-like greenhouse. The highlight though is the moveable side and rear walls that extend outwards, enabling the interior to grow up to 37 m². This is about the same size as a small European apartment and can serve either as a second home for adventure-hungry families or as a mobile office for digital nomads.

The interior looks modern and luxurious, with the cozy living room, kitchen area, bedroom, and bathroom benefiting from collapsible and modular furniture. Furthermore, the dashboard can convert into a workspace thanks to the retractable steering wheel and the rotating seats. When designing the AC Future eTH, the team put a lot of emphasis on “sustainable living”. In that context, the retractable solar panels on the roof can generate 25 kWh of “clean” energy, allowing the EV to stay off the grid for up to 7 days, with the help of a presumably large battery pack. At the same time, the “Atmospheric Water Generator” system collects the moisture in the air, resulting in a daily supply of up to 50 lt of clean water.

The EV is equipped with Starlink, which means that occupants will have internet access pretty much everywhere in the world for work and entertainment purposes. It also features “cutting-edge” driver assistance systems for when it is on the move. Unfortunately, the company didn’t reveal the specifications of the fully electric powertrain, the range figures, and the dimensions of the eTH.

According to AC Future, its goal was to create the “sustainable living platform” of the future, designed for those in search of short-distance adventures. It is not clear if the project is destined for production but it looks more like a design study created to steal the show at this year’s CES. In any case, the future of RVs sounds exciting.
