The Dacia Jogger is known for its practicality and affordability, but as with the Duster SUV sibling, some buyers want something more special. Carpoint, a Dacia dealer located in Germany, created a special edition of the Jogger with visual updates and extra equipment making it more desirable – and slightly more expensive. The standout feature of the exterior is the matte black wrap, which complements the sculpted fenders of the Jogger and aligns with the extensive plastic cladding. The sinister looks are further heightened by a coordinated grille, Dacia emblems, and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels which are also finished in black.
Additionally, a roof box with a capacity
of 420 liters is affixed to Dacia’s adaptable roof rails,
further increasing the already spacious trunk, which can expand to 708 liters in the five-seater variant. Interestingly, the roof box comes
equipped with its own spoiler, eliminating the need for an additional spoiler
on the tailgate. The interior of the Jogger, borrowed from the Sandero, remains
mostly unaltered. Fortunately, the donor vehicle isn’t the stripped-down
base-spec trim, so it does come with some amenities. These include air
conditioning, a standalone infotainment touchscreen, cruise control, as well as
parking, rain, and light sensors.
The stock version of the Romanian
crossover has 200 mm of ground clearance, but Carpoint opted for a
new set of lowering springs, bringing it closer to the ground. The lower stance
and low-profile tires certainly limit the off-road credentials of the Jogger,
prioritizing looks over substance. Similar to the Duster Carpoint Editions,
there are no changes under the hood, which means you can choose the special
Jogger with any available engine. The showcased model is equipped with the
base-spec turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder bi-fuel engine, just like the
press car we reviewed. This engine isn’t a powerhouse, producing 99 hp and 170 Nm when running on LPG (liquid petroleum gas), or
90 hp and 160 Nm when running on gasoline. Power is
sent to the front axle through a six-speed manual gearbox.
According to the official website, this
particular Dacia Jogger Carpoint Edition is priced at € 26,590 (US$ 28,945)
although there is another slightly cheaper example without the roof box listed
for € 25,990 (US$ 28,291).
