Fisker ended 2023 well, with quadrupling sales in the fourth quarter of the year, and it wants to keep that momentum going in 2024 with a new, special edition model that pushes the limits of luxuriousness from the electric crossover. The automaker has teased us with the first hints of the Fisker Ocean Extreme Monterey Edition model. Set to be the most premium offering in the vehicle’s lineup, the company’s founder, Henrik Fisker, says that the model was conceived of in response to customer demand.
The improvements start outside, with a new
paint option called Sun Soaked. A metallic gloss paint, it will be combined
with color-accent details throughout the vehicle’s interior and on its wheels. Inside,
it appears that the model will be upholstered with a suede-like material.
Despite the focus on luxury, Fisker says it hasn’t forgotten its commitment to
sustainability, and will use innovative recycled materials to keep its carbon
footprint as low as possible.
The Fisker Ocean is currently offered in
three trim levels, the Sport, Ultra, and Extreme, the last of which is the
longest-range version in the lineup. It can go up to 579 km per
charge, according to the EPA. However, it recently became publicized that the
model is the subject of a safety investigation in the U.S. over its braking
system, with which the automaker says it is cooperating.
Fisker says that it will only produce a
limited number of Ocean Extreme Monterey Edition models, but has not yet
revealed how many. However, it adds that it will release more information about
pricing and production volume in the coming months. The model will be available
to order in the second half of the year.
