The Ford E-Transit SuperVan 4.2 is heading to Australia and will hit the nation’s most famous racetrack, Mount Panorama, during the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour race weekend. Roughly six months after conquering the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the all-electric demonstrator model will make its debut at the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour weekend, with Romain Dumas behind the wheel for a series of demonstration runs. The SuperVan will continue to be showcased until the following weekend for the Thrifty Bathurst 500 Supercars season opener, where it will also be on display.
The all-electric SuperVan 4 was first
presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in mid-2022 before being revised
and transformed into the 4.2 for last year’s Race to the Clouds in Colorado. It
is powered by three electric motors that deliver 1,400 hp. Moreover, a plethora
of modifications were made to it, including completely refining the bodywork to
produce 1,995 kg of downforce at 242 km/h.
Furthermore, Ford reduced the number of
STARD electric motors from four to three, but still managed to squeeze out
1,400 hp. Perhaps the most significant changes made were on the weight saving
front with almost 400 kg stripped out from the race car.
