Hyundai has kicked off sales of the limited-run Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition following the vehicle’s unveiling late last year. The Ioniq 5 Disney100 celebrates Hyundai’s ongoing partnership as the exclusive North American automotive sponsor for Disney100 and comes equipped with a selection of special parts and features. For example, all 1,000 units bound for the production line will be painted Gravity Gold Matte and come equipped with distinctive 20-inch alloy wheels that incorporate the head shape of Mickey Mouse.
Standard equipment includes special
Disney100 Platinum Edition badges on the front fenders, black Hyundai badges on
the hood and tailgate, and added special front and rear door trim strips. The
special touches continue into the cabin with a Terra Brown and Mud Gray
two-tone interior that includes a Disney100 logo debossed on the front seat
headrests and center console, Disney100 logos on the floormats, and a
Disney-themed intro on the infotainment display.
All 1,000 examples of the Ioniq 5
Disney100 Platinum Edition are based around the dual-motor variant with 320 hp
and 605 Nm of torque. It also comes equipped with a 77.4 kWh
lithium-ion battery pack and supports charging at 350 kW DC fast chargers. Prices
for the Disney-themed model start at US$ 59,400 excluding a US$ 1,375 delivery
charge.
In a bid to help promote the new model,
Hyundai and Disney are releasing a series of videos on YouTube revolving around
a road trip taken by actors Josh Peck and John Stamos in the limited-run Ioniq
5 Disney100 Platinum Edition where they will visit a variety of locations which
serve as historic milestones in the history of The Walt Disney Company,
including the Tam O’Shanter restaurant, Griffith Park, Palm Springs Air Museum,
and The Walt Disney Company Studio Lot.
