Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast held nothing back at CES this week, introducing not only its VF 3 mini eSUV but also surprising many with the unveiling of the Wild Pickup concept. While these two vehicles were the highlights for the brand at CES, it also elected to use the Las Vegas show to unveil its new electric bike, dubbed the DrgnFly. VinFast says the DrgnFly’s name is inspired by the image of an ascending dragon, with the bike to go on sale in the U.S. priced from US$ 2,800. It comes standard with a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

The design of the DrgnFly is a little different than other electric bikes out there thanks to VinFast working with Danish design studio Eskild Hansen. It takes inspiration from the “golden era of motorcycles” and has a V-shaped frame, wide handlebars, balloon tires, and is constructed from lightweight aluminum. Powering the DrgnFly is a 750-watt electric motor integrated into the rear wheel, taking power from a detachable lithium-ion battery. It can hit up to 45 km/h and travel up to 102 km on a single charge. VinFast hasn’t specified the capacity of the battery nor has it mentioned how quickly it can be recharged.

Customers will also be pleased to learn that the DrgnFly includes a 4G connection and a companion app that includes a remote locking function, bike locator, ride statistic records, and remote diagnostics. The bike also supports over-the-air updates.
