Chinese automaker Zeekr has launched the sales of its 007 EV on the domestic market. The company claims that CATL batteries and 800V charging support make the sedan the world’s fastest-charging EV. Other specs and pricing details are also available.
When plugged into a sufficiently powerful
charger, the car allegedly replenishes enough charge for 610 km of
driving in just 15 minutes. The base spec, however, powers its electric motor
rated at 421 PS from a different battery type – Zeekr’s own
design rated at 75 kWh and 688 km of range. The carmaker claims it
is still the best-rated LFP battery pack on the market. While not as fast as
the CATL version mentioned above, it still gets 500 km of range
from 15 minutes of charging.
The flagship spec commands over 646 PS and benefits from the 100-kWh CATL battery array. Its
sophisticated chemical composition allows it to output 870 km of
driving range per charge – at least, according to Chinese standards. Lower trim
buyers will still be able to get this battery type as a paid option, but it
will be expensive. The flagship trim sprints 0-100 km/h in 2.84
seconds, while the single-motor one manages the same in 5.4 seconds.
In China, the Zeekr 007 will start from
209,900 Yuan and max out at 299,900 Yuan (US$ 29,300–41,800, respectively).
It is roughly 20,000 Yuan cheaper than the automaker’s own estimate announced
during the pre-order stage. The actual deliveries are scheduled to begin from
January 1, 2024, and the production has already been running for a week now.
