The Ford Ranger Wildtrak is a pretty capable midsize truck but it somehow lives under the shadow of the flagship Raptor. For owners who want to spice it up, UK-based tuner Motion R offers a range of visual updates, adding carbon fiber on both the exterior and the interior. The full-blown Ford Ranger Wildtrak MC Edition is limited to 50 units, although individual components are available individually to customers.
The bodykit is made of forged carbon fiber
and includes a two-piece splitter, matching garnish on the front bumper, and a
honeycomb pattern for the grille and intakes. On the profile, the wide fender
extensions highlight the 20-inch forged monoblock alloy wheels which are also
decorated with carbon accents and are available in different colors. The tuner
also added side steps, a “Tri-Lazer” roof-mounted lightbar, and a roof spoiler.
Furthermore, the sporty bits can be optionally combined with a satin or matt
black wrap.
The interior of the dual-cab pickup
features carbon inserts on the dashboard, steering wheel, and doors. The seats
are reupholstered with Italian nappa leather, featuring Motion R emblems
embossed on the headrests. Similar branding can be found on the floor mats,
while the rear bed can be specified with board and wetsuit storage. The tuner
doesn’t offer any performance modifications. Note that the Ford Ranger Wildtrak
trim is available in the UK with either the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel
producing 202 hp, or the more powerful 3.0-liter V6
turbodiesel producing 237 hp.
According to the listings on the official
website of Motion R, pricing for a Ford Ranger MC Edition with the 2.0-liter
EcoBlue starts from £ 54,995 (US$ 69,027), with the wrap adding another £ 5,000
(US$ 6,284) before taxes. For comparison, the stock Ranger Wildtrak starts from
£ 39,350 (US$ 49,463) in the UK. The tuner recently unveiled similar upgrades for
the Ford Transit Custom LCV. Its portfolio also includes the Land Rover
Defender, VW Transporter, and the Tesla Model 3.
