Shelby American has unveiled its first product based on the new generation, 2024 S650 Ford Mustang, and it’s a doozy. Thanks to a Whipple supercharger and other modifications, the 2024 Super Snake will offer buyers over 830 hp of pure, raw American fun. The supercharger sits atop Ford’s 5.0-liter V8, but it doesn’t have to. The 2024 Shelby Super Snake will be offered with either +830 hp or a more manageable 480 hp.

Buyers who opt for the second option will still be offered some important modifications, such as a tuned suspension for sharper turn-in response. Shelby has also added a Borla exhaust system for better air flow, modified the brakes for shorter stopping distances, and improved cooling to keep it all working lap after lap. Naturally, the supercharged version is the one that will get all the attention, though. In addition to the neck-straining power figure, the 830 hp Super Snake also benefits from some sophisticated tuning.

Power output won’t be the only option offered to buyers. As with the factory Mustang, the Shelby Super Snake will be available with either a manual or an automatic gearbox, and a hard top or a soft top, for people who want to know what 830 hp can do to their hairstyle. Although prices have not yet been released, Shelby American has revealed that it will make just 250 Super Snakes for the American market for the 2024 model year. The tuner will sell the new car in other countries, like Australia, but production will be limited there, too.

Enthusiasts looking to get their hands on a 2024 Shelby Super Snake can turn to select Ford dealers in the U.S. In foreign markets, they will have to find the closest International Official Mod Shop, which in Australia, is Mustang Motorsport in Ferntree Gully, Victoria.

Production of the 2024 Shelby Super Snake is set to begin this summer, and it will be offered with a three-year/36,000 mile limited warranty, while Ford’s powertrain warranty remains intact. Buyers will also have their vehicles registered in the Shelby registry.
