Lamborghini said farewell to the Huracán earlier today, so it’s fitting that spy photographers have caught its successor. Expected to be called the Temerario, the model will usher in a new era of performance. While the car has already been spied on numerous occasions, the camouflage is slowly starting to come off and reveal new details. We’ll get to them in a minute, but we can see the Huracán successor will proudly show its Lamborghini DNA.
Despite being instantly recognizable, the
car has a unique front fascia with slender headlights and a rectangular central
intake. They’re joined by angular fins as well as hexagonal daytime running
lights that appear to double as turn signals. Moving further back, the
wedge-like supercar has an angular windscreen that flows into a double bubble
roof. We can also see a familiar greenhouse as well as prominent side scoops
that echo those found on the Revuelto.
The rear end cribs from its big brother as
there’s a vertical window that is flanked by angular buttresses. Elsewhere, the
model has been equipped with a hexagonal central exhaust as well as slender LED
taillights that have a similar shape. They’re joined by a ventilated fascia as
well as an aggressive diffuser. The cabin appears to carryover from the Revuelto. The model
sports a slender front passenger display that likely measures 9.1 inches. It’s
joined by a familiar dashboard that has angular accents.
The rest of the cabin is hidden from view,
but the car could be equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and
an 8.4-inch infotainment system. We also wouldn’t be surprised to find a
flat-bottom steering wheel and sporty switchgear. While the car clearly
references the Revuelto, it will have a less extreme plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Instead of a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12, the Temerario is expected to
have a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8.
Specifics are hazy, but the car could have
a relatively small lithium-ion battery as well as a front-mounted electric
motor. The latter would give the model all-wheel drive as well as a short
electric-only range.
