The first example of Japan’s record-breaking Aspark Owl is heading to an online auction, allowing enthusiasts and collectors to own one of the most intriguing electric hypercars in the market. Roughly seven years have passed since the unveiling of the Owl to the world. The boutique carmaker announced plans to produce 50 examples for customers, confirming last year that development had concluded and deliveries were imminent. While the exact number of deliveries remains unclear, prospective buyers placing orders now face a minimum one-year wait for delivery. Alternatively, they could bid on this Owl and take immediate possession.

SBX, one of the latest entrants in the ever-expanding realm of website/YouTube
channels transformed into auction houses, this one courtesy of Supercar
Blondie. Limited information is available about this specific Owl, aside from
mild cosmetic imperfections. Furthermore, there is no mention of its mileage.
Driving the Owl are four electric motors
that combine for an extraordinary 1,985 hp and 2,000 Nm of
torque. These motors receive their juice from a 64 kWh battery pack. The car
can hit 96 km/h in just 1.7 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 400 km/h.
Given that the Owl comes from a startup,
it looks to be relatively well-built and the cabin is surprisingly
well-appointed. There are carbon fiber-backed racing seats clad in black and
yellow leather, the car has Sparco racing harnesses, there is plenty of carbon
fiber, a digital instrument cluster, digital mirrors, and a central
infotainment display.
The online auction will launch on April 18.
