Chinese automaker Changan has launched a joint project with Mazda that envisions designing a few original EVs for the local market.

The two companies plan to design and produce a whole lineup of part-electric vehicles on a platform developed in China. Their first model will be a sedan named either EZ-6 or EZ-60 – this image is its only teaser available thus far. Mazda had previously registered both nameplates in the country, so the cars would most likely be released under its own branding.

The details aren’t here yet, but the sedan is scheduled for premiere later this month, so stay tuned.
