Hyundai has revealed the facelifted version of the Alcazar in India, sporting a heavily redesigned exterior that gives it a boxier stance. The Alcazar was originally introduced in 2021, as a stretched version of the Creta with added practicality thanks to the three-row seating layout. Now, three years later, it undergoes a mid-cycle refresh, taking heavy inspiration from the recently updated Creta. The new face of the Alcazar features split headlights, with the H pattern incorporated in the LED graphics. The front bumper is covered by a wider grille, with a generously-sized skid plate surrounding the lower cooling intake.
The sculpted profile of the Alcazar
remains recognizable but now features new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and
sleek roof rails. At the rear, the updated LED taillights form a distinctive
H-shaped design. The rear bumper sports an aluminum-style trim and faux vents,
with dual tailpipes and a turbo badge on the shown model. Hyundai hasn’t
released interior photos yet, but it’s likely the Alcazar will inherit the
Creta’s digital cockpit with dual 10.25-inch screens, plus additional tech,
comfort, and safety features. The SUV will continue to offer six- and
seven-seat configurations across three rows.
The powertrain lineup of the Alcazar will
be carried over from its predecessor, including non-electrified gasoline and
diesel options. These include a turbocharged 1.5-liter T-GDi gasoline
powertrain with 158 hp and a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel with 113
hp. Alongside the standard six-speed manual, the gasoline
model offers a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, while the diesel comes with a
six-speed torque converter automatic. All variants drive the front wheels.
Hyundai has started accepting pre-orders
for the facelifted Alcazar in India, ahead of its market launch on September 9.
Since unveiling the Santa Fe in 2023, Hyundai has been reshaping its SUVs with
a boxier stance. The Alcazar is the third India-bound model to embrace this
design shift, following the Exter and the related Creta. Expect a similar
overhaul for the upcoming 2026 Hyundai Palisade flagship in the US market.
