The countdown to the Paris Motor Show continues as Alpine has announced plans to introduce the A390_β concept on October 11. It previews an electric “sport fastback” that will go into production in 2025. Alpine isn’t saying much at this point, but the teaser suggests the concept will have sweptback headlights and a low hood. We can also see a flowing roof, wraparound taillights, and what appears to be an angular shoulder line. While the company is staying tight-lipped, Alpine originally announced plans for the model in 2022. At the time, they said the “all-electric GT X-Over” would be based on the latest version of the CMF-EV platform.
More recently, in the summer of 2023,
Alpine described the model as a C-segment Crossover GT that would play an
important role in helping the brand to break-even in 2026. It, along with other
upcoming models, could be offered globally as the brand has previously
announced plans to enter Asia as well as the United States starting in 2027.
We can expect to learn more next month,
but the crossover could take some cues from the Renault Scenic E-Tech. It
offers 60 and 87 kWh battery packs that provide up to 625 km of
range under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure. The model
also has an electric motor producing up to 215 hp and 300 Nm of torque.
Besides the A390_β concept, Alpine will
introduce the Alpenglow Hy6. It’s billed as a prototype with a six-cylinder
hydrogen-combustion engine.
