The
Vencer Sarthe is the result of years of secret and thorough development of a
niche and completely new supercar. In a modern digital world of mass
production, hybrid technology, paddle shift automated gearboxes and electronic
driver interference we believe a genuine drivers car is more relevant than
ever. With this clear objective in mind we have built a genuine analogue
supercar of a kind that is increasingly becoming rare.
The
Sarthe is inspired on the iconic ’80s race cars competing in the 24 Hours of Le
Mans. With a distinctive design and analogue character, these cars were purpose
built to endure the harsh circumstances of the renowned race. Named after its
famous circuit “de la Sarthe”, the key success factors of these ’80s race cars
have been incorporated in the Vencer Sarthe and have been given a modern day
interpretation. The iconic design of these race cars together with genuine
engineering, purposeful minimalist design and durable carbon fibre lightweight
construction are delivering an optimum blend of a neo-retro and mechanical feel
with modern day impressive performance. The Vencer Sarthe is a sophisticated
machine, which unpretentiously delivers effortless performance.
The
Sarthe embodies our vision about a great supercar; distinctive and rare, purpose
built and tailor-made. It offers a unique blend of raw power, analogue feel,
dynamic agility as well as minimalist yet modern refinement. At the same time
the Sarthe is unpretentious as well as surprisingly usable in everyday road
situations. The Vencer Sarthe is a supercar with a GT feel, full of character
for enthusiasts who admire purity, rarity and mechanical feel.
A
new masterpiece forms an integral part of the Vencer philosophy relating to the
commitment to sheer driving pleasure. The Vencer 6.3L V63SC engine is a new
development for the MY 2015 model. This powerful eight-cylinder unit is
composed of the best high-end OEM components available. Inspired by the ’80s Le
Mans era, Vencer has incorporated a number of measures that have resulted in a powerhouse
with impressive character. The engine stands out for its sublime power
delivery, a deliberate broad power range and raw mechanical feel. The 6.3L V8
with supercharger boasts 622BHP (457kW) at 6500 rpm, and 838 Nm (618 lb-ft) of
torque at 4000 rpm. Vencer has chosen to add a supercharger not only for
increased power output, but also for immediate throttle response and impressive
torque figures (650 Nm starting at 1500 rpm), adding to the driveability and
agility of the car. As a result, the pounding heart of the Vencer Sarthe
delivers exceptional performance that is unique in its segment.
The
engine is mounted deep into the chassis directly behind the driver, to ensure a
lower centre of gravity, high lateral acceleration and optimal weight distribution.
Next to this, the V8 is directly bolted onto the 6-speed transaxle gearbox with
a Torsen limited slip differential. Double wishbones with adjustable suspension
and anti-roll bar will ensure a pure and direct vehicle control without
additional electronic interference. Only the essentials as ABS and EBD are
present to properly support the driver in difficult and unsafe situations.
Additionally, the integrated automatic rear spoiler increases down force on the
rear axle, providing even more grip and high speed stability.
A
completely new interior design brings to life an extraordinary and refined
feel, with a clear and minimalist focus on only driving essentials. The typical
wide door sills, close-fitting cockpit and central driving position of the Sarthe
together with a short nose design, complemented by a long windscreen with
direct and unrestricted view on the tarmac, are providing an impressive driving
experience that lets the driver become one with the open road.
