2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO

We knew a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado update was inbound, but today’s release of the truck’s revised front end was earlier than we expected. Nonetheless, feast your eyes on Chevrolet’s latest take on the Silverado’s looks.

“The redesigned 2016 Silverado will build on Chevy Trucks’ legacy of dependability. It will feature a more muscular appearance and offer new customer-focused technologies,” said Sandor Piszar, marketing director for Chevy Trucks.

“New front end designs with bold horizontal elements, sculpted hoods and dramatic lighting reflect the strength and refinement that have helped make Silverado the fastest growing full-size pickup brand this year.”

The bad news first: this is the only photo provided of the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, meaning, we don’t have a clue what updates and changes may have occurred to the rear of the truck, or in the interior cabin. Chevrolet did mention, however, an expanded use of the eight-speed automatic transmission as well as new safety features inbound for the truck. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will also be supported in the 2016 Silverado.

Now, the good news: it looks much better to our eyes. It wasn’t a secret many felt this current Chevrolet Silverado looked a bit underwhelming in design. Chevrolet hopes to sway those opinion thinkers with this modern take on the retro-inspired design, which now includes much less chrome, a single headlight design and a body-colored strip up front.

Chevrolet says the facelifted 2016 Chevy Silverado will be available this fall, with more details to be provided in the coming months. We’d say a 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show debut sounds like the time and place for a public debut.
