Benelli
BN 302
The
Benelli BN 302 is the company’s entry-level offering along with the BN 250 and
was showcased at the EICMA 2014 Motor Show. The small Benelli is aimed for
young riders who are looking to start off their first adventures in
motorcycling.
From
the looks, the BN 302 sports a muscular styling that makes it look like a much
larger motorcycle than what it is from a distance. This is party because of the
hunched fuel tank with protruding shrouds and beefy upside-down forks that when
combined with a neatly packed engine bay give it a big-bike feel. The looks are
further enhanced by the single-sided chopped off underbelly exhaust and a twin
pipe swingarm. The exposed monoshock mounted high also adds to the sporty
nature of the motorcycle.
Featuring
a 300 cc inline 2-cylinder that is liquid cooled and generates a peak power of
36 PS at 11500 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 9000 rpm. The engine transfers its power
to the ground via a six speed gearbox.
The
engine is neatly wrapped around by a steel trestle frame that is designed to
give superior ride and handling character while at the same time being
lightweight. For braking, the BN 302
employs a 260 mm twin-disc setup at the front while getting a 240 mm
single-disc at the rear.
