CCG
AUTOMOTIVE CUSTOM GT
Mention
the Eifel region of western Germany to any motorsport fan and their mind will
instantly jump to the Nürburgring, swiftly sending them into daydream-land. But
Eifel also plays home to CCG Automotive, the company responsible for this
hand-built 730bhp supercar.
Known
as the Custom GT, this powerful beast combines a 7.0-litre turbocharged V8 with
a weight of just 1040 kg, thanks to a tubular spaceframe and bodywork made from
glassfibre or optional carbonfibre. All 730 horses are sent to the rear wheels,
leading to a 0-62 mph sprint of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of between 185 and
200 mph, depending on gear ratios.
Less
outrageous engine options are also available: a naturally aspirated version of
the GM-sourced 7.0-litre (0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds) is available, alongside a
434 bhp 6.0-litre V8 and even an engine which can run on a mixture of E85
Bioethanol and LPG. All engines put their power onto the road via a traditional
six-speed manual gearbox.
If
the 730 bhp version isn’t hardcore enough, there will be a track-focused model
released next spring. The Custom GT Competition will have its weight stripped
below the 1000 kg mark, and will gain more aggressive ECU mapping and an
optimised suspension set-up.
Prices
for the Custom GT begin at € 113,500 (almost exactly £ 100,000) for the 6.0-litre
base model.
