Exagon
Furtive-eGT
At
the 2010 Paris Motor Show a French company called Exagon Motors is set to
unveil an electric-powered sports car. Exagon Motors is a division of Exagon
Engineering, a specialist motorsport engineering company who are involved in
WTCC and GT championships.
The
Exagon Motors Furtive-eGT was developed through a collaboration with Siemens -
who have helped with the drivetrain by supplying two electric motors. Each
motor provides 170 hp, making a total of 340 hp available. That means the
Exagon Furtive-eGT can haul itself to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds. Top
speed has been capped at 155 mph to conserve range. Without the limiter it
could carry on to 186 mph.
The
Exagon Furtive eGT has a range somewhere in the region of 124 - 248 miles on
battery power alone. We're assuming the large difference in minimum and maximum
range is dependent on how you aggressively you choose to drive. For longer
journeys, a small generator motor kicks in to top up the battery levels.
Exagon
Motors thankfully spent the time and money to give the Furtive eGT a stunning
body to compliment the advanced electric drivetrain. The front end has a neat
and taught appearance which is not unlike the face of the 2010 Peugeot SR1
concept car. The chiseled door panels are also reminiscent of the same concept.
Any way you look at it though, the Exagon Motors Furtive-eGT is a good looking
motor.
