Javan
R1
The
Javan R1 is a British sports car which picked up where another left off. The
Strathcarron SC5-A was also a British built sports car. But in 2001, due to a
change in vehicle approval laws the company went under. Five years on and after
1:8 scale model car constructor Javan Smith bought the tooling and molds for
the SC5-A he reintroduced the car as the Javan R1.
Built
as a drivers car the Javan R1 features an aerospace designed and manufactured
epoxy bonded aluminium honeycomb monocoque for extreme lightness and strength.
Fitted with computer designed race car inspired suspension.
The
Javan R1 is powered by a mid mounted 2 litre 4 cylinder i-VTEC DOHC engine
developing 220 bhp and revving to 8600 rpm coupled to a six speed gearbox.
Options
for the Javan R1 include launch control and supercharging. Currently Javan plan
to produce only 12 cars a year, with a waiting time of around two months.
