Mastretta
MTX
Mastretta
Design, based in Mexico City, presented the first prototype of their MXT sports
car in May 2007.
The
MXT is a two seat, mid engine sports car Mastretta Design intend to sell in
both local and international markets.
Developed
in house by the Mastretta design team, the MXT project has also benefited from
of a two year collaboration program between Mastretta and engineering companies
based in England and the USA.
The
frame of the Mastretta MXT has been specially developed using aluminum
extrusions with steel complementary subframes. The suspension features unequal
wishbones at all four corners. The body of the Mastretta MXT will be produced
using closed mold, high quality fiberglass technology.
Carbon-fiber
body elements and aluminum elements in the chassis contribute to a low curb
weight of 930 kg. The engine is Ford's Duratec in-line 4-cylinder, with an
announced power output of 250 PS (184 kW) and 348 Nm of torque connected to a
5-speed manual gearbox.
