Roadcars Exigence Of Speed (EOS)
MB
Roadcars, creators of the EOS ‘Exigence of Speed’ supercar is a small team made
up of ex-F1 designers. The EOS uses a three-seat layout with a central driving
position similar to the Mclaren F1.
Using
their knowledge of advanced aerodynamic design through lessons learnt on the
race track, the designers have given Exigence of Speed features such as a two
part front wing and side winglets to ensure high downforce and low drag. These
are complemented by an integrated rear wing, a wide-angle rear diffuser and
side winglets, technology used on a road car for the first time.
EOS
combines the latest in aerospace and motor sport technology. This is evident in
the high strength monocoque chassis and body panels made from aerospace-grade
composite materials resulting in an overall weight of just 1000 kg (2200 lbs).
The
500 horsepower Mader Racing 90° V8 engine and six-speed gearbox are mounted
amid ships longitudinally for optimum weight distribution.
The
Exigence of Speed features a suspension layout inspired by modern racing cars.
Double unequal length wishbones with inboard springs and dampers are used both
front and rear. This advanced setup was optimised to provide maximum stability
and control under acceleration, braking and cornering.
