MMI
Avocet
The
Avocet from MMI was revealed at the 2008 Autosport International Motor Show at
the NEC in Birmingham, England.
The
MMI Avocet is a two seat, lightweight roadster powered by a Ford 2.0 litre
inline 4 cylinder available in two states of tuning. On offer is an adequate
150 horsepower engine, and a high-revving uprated 225 bhp version developed by
Roush. The top spec engine should give the MMI Avocet a 0-60 time of less than
5 seconds, and a top speed close to 150 mph.
In
an effort to make the MMI more practical and accessible many of the mechanical
components under the composite bodywork are taken straight off Ford's parts
shelf.
