Novitec
TuLesto
Novitec
is a Germany company who specialise in customisation of a wide variety of
Italian cars, from Fiat and Alfa Romeo to Maserati and Ferrari. The TuLesto
supercar is the first vehicle they've produced which has been branded as a Novitec.
The vehicle was created to mark the company's 20th anniversary.
Essentially
the Novitec Tulesto is a heavily modified Ferrari F430, only the front end and
the shape of the windows give away the original design. The styling of the
TuLesto was carried out by Luca Serafini, who created the Ferrari Concept 2008
- a reinterpretation of the F430 with retro styling cues.
The
shape of the Novitec TuLesto was created using state-of-the-art CAD and CFD
technologies, further enhanced by the use of the wind tunnel.
Lightweight
construction was one of the main goals from the very start of the TuLesto's
development. The chosen materials are normally found in racecars. The chassis
and the integrated safety cell are made entirely from aluminum, making them
extremely light while at the same time giving them exceptional rigidity.
Powering
the Novitec TuLesto is a 4.4 litre V8 with dual superchargers. This unit is
basically an upgraded version of the 4.3 litre V8 found in the Ferrari F430. In
the TuLesto is produces a peak power output of 777 hp @ 8,200 rpm and a peak
torque of 727 Nm @ 6,300 rpm. The transmission is handled by a 6 speed
semiautomatic gearbox with carbon fibre paddles located behind the steering
wheel. An adjustable traction control system with launch control is also fitted
as standard.
The
chassis components of the Novitec TuLesto include double-wishbone suspension
front and rear, height-adjustable struts with various selectable damping rates,
and adjustable sway bars. The front of the car can be raised by four
centimeters at the push of a button to help avoid damage while going over speed
bumps or steep inclines. The anti-lock braking system features ceramic
composite discs and six-piston calipers front and back.
