Royal
Enfield has officially introduced its limited-edition Despatch range of
motorcycle in Mumbai today. The event took place in newly opened store located
at Linking road, Khar (West Mumbai). The president of Royal Enfield, Rudratej
Singh took the wraps off 'Desert Storm Despatch' and 'Squadron Blue Despatch' -
the two variants of motorcycle. It will be available to purchase at INR 2.05
lakh from July 15, 2015. The production of the motorcycle will be limited to
200 units only.
Its
name 'Despatch' is inspired by a despatch riders who used Royal Enfield in the
battlefield during war. In India, it will be available in only Blue and Brown
shade, the green shade is restricted for only Army here, so no Green shade will
be offered in Despatch range. Each motorcycle has been crafted with full
attention and its painting process used unique film transfer technique and many
man hands to give it detailed skin. Apart from this, Royal Enfield Classic 500
Despatch also gets a black coating on engine & silencer which goes very
well with the color scheme and leather seats.
In
addition, Royal Enfield also introduced a range of accessories and apparel for
the Enfield lovers including Jackets, Pants, T-shirts, boots, wallets and
duffle bags etc. Mechanically, it includes 499 cc air-cooling, single cylinder,
4-stroke engine which generates 27.2 Bhp of power at 5250 rpm and 41.3 Nm
torque at 4000 rpm. The overall height of the bike is a 1090 mm, width is 790 mm
and it has a kerb weight of 190 kg. The ground clearance and seat height of the
motorcycle is 1360 mm and 800 mm.
