Secma
F16
The
Secma F16 is a small two seat sports car produced in Douai, northern France. The
Secma F16 is powered by a mid-mounted, Renault sourced, 1.6 litre, fuel
injected, inline four cylinder engine which develops 105 horsepower @ 5750 rpm,
and 148 Nm of torque @ 3,750 rpm. This is connected to a 5 speed manual gearbox
which drives the 16" rear wheels. This drivetrain allows the 560 kg (1235
lb) roadster to reach 62 mph in just under 6 seconds. The top speed is less
impressive at 110 mph.
The
body of the Secma F16 consists of a molded polyethylene central cell mounted on
anticorrosion treated chassis. The front and rear body panels are formed from
ABS/PMMA plastics. Also available are optional doors which open in a vertical,
gullwing manner.
The
suspension of the Secma F16 comprises of double wishbones and hydraulic shocks
up front, and a trailing arm setup at the rear. Incidentally the F16 name is
not a designed to imitate the F16 fighter aircraft, it is an abbreviation of
Fun 1600.
