Geely
Moca concept
The
Geely Moca concept must be one of the only cars in the world that can name a
motorbike among its list of standard features. The Moca concept is the
evolution of the Chinese manufacturer’s tastily named McCar concept that turned
heads at last year’s Auto Shanghai show.
The
motorbike – positioned in the boot and between the 2+2’s individual rear seats
– is the first of those, given it replaces the three-wheel scooter from the
McCar that lacked street cred.
The
exterior styling, seemingly drawing inspiration from the Kia Sportage, is also
considerably sportier than the bubbly goldfish looks of the first-gen concept.
Geely
has not yet released details of the Moca’s powertrain – or those of the
embedded motorbike – although it is expected to be similar to the
hybrid/electric system utilised by the earlier concept. The McCar was motivated
by a petrol-electric hybrid system that simultaneously charged the battery of
the electric scooter, which had a range of approximately 29 km.
The
Geely Moca is just one of the many quirky cars we are looking forward to seeing
at this year’s Beijing motor show, which kicks off on Monday.
