2016
KTM 1290 Super Duke GT
It was always rumoured
that KTM is set to bring out a more touring-oriented version of the KTM 1290
Super Duke R to the market, a belief that is now a confirmation thats to the
new images recently revealed by KTM.
While
the photos release are still camouflaged, meaning that KTM is keeping the paint
scheme and the actual read-to-sell look under wraps till the EICMA motor show
slated for end-November 2015. This new motorcycle will join its
heavyweight cousin the 1290 Super Adventure and the 1290 Super Duke R for the
company’s 2016 flagship lineup.
According
to the report by Asphalt and Rubber, Alan Cathcard from Cycle News,
one of the people who has ridden the motorcycle before hand, the 1290 Super
Duke GT is very similar to the 1290 Super Duke R but has been salted and spiced
to deliver a more smoother touring experience. Unlike the 1290 Super Adventure,
the Super Duke GT would be a completely road-biased machine.
In
terms of features, it is believed that the 1290 Super Duke GT would feature
electronically controlled semi-active suspensions, cornering lights, an
eight-way adjustable windscreen and four-mode ride-by-wire throttle control.
