Benelli
Tornado 302
The Italian motorcycle
maker has unveiled the Benelli Tornado 302 at the 2015 EICMA in Milan today. It
is the first fully faired motorcycle by the company after the Benelli Tornado
1130. The Tornado 302 can be considered a fully faired derivative of the TNT
300/302 naked sports tourer.
The Benelli Tornado 302
measures 2,157 mm in length, 746 mm in width, 1,146 mm in height, 1,410 mm in
wheelbase and 180 mm in ground clearance. The fuel tank capacity is 14 litres
and the engine oil reservoir capacity is 4 litres.
The Tornado 302 is
based on a steel trestle frame suspended by 41 mm inverted telescopic fork with
120 mm travel and a monoshock on swingarm with 45 mm travel. The motorcycle can
be halted by the 260 mm dual disc brake at the front with 4-piston calipers and
a single disc rotor at the rear with a mono-piston floating caliper. The tyres
are of sizes 110/70-ZR17 and 150/60-ZR17.
The latest Benelli is
powered by the 300 cc liquid-cooled inline twin-cylinder engine with 4 valves
and DOHC, featured on the Benelli TNT 300/302 but with different output. The
motor produces 35 hp at 12,000 rpm and 27 Nm at 9,000 rpm, and is teamed with a
6-speed gearbox.
