2016 Hero Hunk Facelift
It's the 2016 Hero
Hunk, one of the best selling 150 cc motorcycles from the brand’s
stable, which seemed to lost traction due to FZ, Gixxer and Pulsar’s, is now
all set to get a facelift very soon.
Just before the Auto Expo begins, Hero fullfills its promise of
launching refreshed and new products from its portfolio. 2016 Hero Hunk
Facelift has been launching soon as the arch rival Honda is all set to launch another
motorcycle in the segment “CB Hornet” next week in India.
Design
wise, the Hunk remains identical like before. All black theme is seen on the
lower part of the motorcycle which includes the suspension, alloy wheels and
piano black heat shield. A new instrument cluster is also seen on the bike
which is a evolution of the pre-facelifted model. Prominent and protruding tank
scoops at the side still can be seen which have vents in them. Same headlights,
tail lamps and other cycle parts remain the same. The major changes are, as
always with the brand are colors. Bold Brown, Blazing Red, Panther black, Matte
black, Ebony grey, Force silver now complete the color palette. All the colors
are unique and except the red and matte black, all of them are new options to
choose from which does give the bike a fresher look than before.
Being
a Hero it has been priced very aggressively. Starting at just Rs. 69,725 for
the front disc and rear drum variant it is clearly ahead of the competition.
Dual disc option is also available and is priced at Rs. 72,825 is well enough.
However, the competition is ahead in terms of technology and hardware.
Hero
says, ‘More power than ever’ for the motorcycle. Hero gets the same Xtreme
engine which makes 13.5 Nm of torque and 15.6 BHP of power. Compression ratio
has been raised along with certain changes to ignition has made this possible
on this Honda engine. Bore and stroke remain identical to before. Valve train
layout also continues be the same as it has a overhead camshafts and not single
or dual unit. The motorcycle will be fighting the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Honda
Unicorn 160, Bajaj Pulsar 150, Pulsar AS 150, Yamaha FZ, CB Hornet 160R. The
competition is tough for Hero 150cc bikes as they remain commuters with more
power while the segment has gone more sportier despite manufacturer from the
rival side have the same commute oriented motorcycles in their portfolio as
well.
