2016 Hyundai i20 WRC
Hyundai feels ready to go after the WRC
Champion title in the 2016 season with their new i20 racer.
Based on the five-door i20, the WRC car
will be driven by Dani Sordo, Hayden Paddon and Thierry Neuville in all 14
rounds of the Championship’s 2016 calendar. Powered by a 300 hp turbocharged
1.6-litre petrol engine, the i20 WRC sends its power to all four wheels via a
six-speed sequential gearbox.
Hyundai has scored one win in two WRC
seasons, with Neuville finishing first in Germany in 2014. In the 2015
Championship, the Korean company scored four podium finishes, with the team
focusing on the development of their new car which already has covered 8000 km of testing. The new car also showed the
team’s new livery with the main sponsors Shell and Mobis both standing out on the
new car.
The 2016 WRC season opens with the Monte
Carlo rally in January.
