Suzuki SV650 Scrambler
Suzuki
showcased a Scrambler version of its new SV650 at the Motorcycle Live being
held in the United Kingdom. This was done to attract more footfalls for the new
SV650, which first debuted in 1999. While the new SV650 gets a major update in
terms of new design, frame and engine, the SV650 gets additional accessories.
The bike is equipped with aluminium front mud guards, radiator guard and a
chain guard.
The
bike rides on deep-treaded tyres instead of the regular ones to go with the
overall Scrambler look. Other than this, Suzuki has exposed the frame by a
little bit and the exhaust pipe is covered with hard cloth to give that rugged
look. In order to make this more interesting, the SV650 gets a tank bag and a
humongous saddle back for someone interested in touring.
In
terms of mechanicals, the bike gets a new V-Twin 650 cc engine which has been
designed to churn out more power and consume less fuel. This engine churns out
75 bhp at 8500 rpm and peak torque of 64 Nm at 8100 rpm. Suzuki hasn’t updated the
suspension or the braking system but it has equipped the bike with a new Nissin
ABS system. The Japanese manufacturer hasn’t revealed the price yet, but it
will be priced close to its competitor, the Yamaha MT07.
