2016
Star V Star 1300 and 950
For
2016, Star will be eliminating the standard V Star 1300 and V Star 950 cruisers
from its lineup. Instead, the V Star 1300 Tourer and V Star 950 Tourer will do
double duty.
This
will be possible for the two V Star Tourers includes due to the addition of a
quick release windshield and backrest for both bikes. The windshield and
backrest are locked into place to prevent theft, and require the ignition key
to be removed, or reinstalled. The bags, however, will remain integrated onto
the V Star 950 and 1300 Tourers.
The
2016 V Star 1300 Tourer will retail for US$ 12,390, and will come in Charcoal
Silver, and hit the showroom floor in January 2016. The V Star 950 Tourer
arrives two months earlier, and will have a MSRP of US$ 9790, and a Raven color.
Remaining
at the top of the 2016 Star V Star line remains the V Star 1300 Deluxe. With a
fork-mounted dash-equipped faring, audio system with GPS, and hard bags that
lock, the V Star 1300 Deluxe is the Star’s premier cruiser tourer. Available in
January 2016, the Raspberry Metallic V Star 1300 Deluxe’s MSRP is US$ 14,090.
The
V Star 1300s feature a liquid-cooled, 80-cubic-inch SOHC motor with fuel
injection, a five-speed transmission with belt final drive, and an oversquare
(100 mm x 83 mm) bore and stroke.
Star
outfits the V Star 950 Tourer with an air-cooled 942 cc engine (58 cubic inches)
with four valves per cylinder and a SOHC design. It has a five-speed tranny and
belt drive. 18-inch wheels give it a big-bike look, with a curb weight of 613
pounds. Star
offers a wide variety of accessories for the Tourers and Deluxe.
