Honda Brio RS
These are the first images of a Honda
Brio RS, which is reportedly heading for a launch in Indonesia soon. While the
Brio has received styling kits from Modulo in the past, Honda has, thus far,
not indicated any plans of launching its RS kit on the small car.
The front fascia carries the bulk of the
changes, and is clearly inspired by the Honda Mobilio RS (the Brio and Mobilio
share platforms, parts and components). The new headlight cluster with LED
daytime running light and projector light is seen, whereas the chrome-finished
grille has given away for an all-new all-black unit with a chrome highlight.
The front bumper too is inspired by the Mobilio RS and gets a honeycomb airdam.
Over to the side, the Honda Brio RS
rides on new and what appears to be larger 15-inch alloy wheels with a diamond
finish. Honda has also given subtle side skirts to further add to its appeal. Under the hood, the Brio RS is likely to
continue with its 1.2-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine which is capable of 88
PS and 109 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual or automatic
transmission.
The Brio hasn’t seen any major cosmetic
updates in its lifecycle. In 2013, the Thai-market Brio was upgraded with a
rear wiper/washer and a plastic applique, while for the Indian market, Honda
Cars India introduced minor feature revisions like power-folding wing mirrors,
all-black dashboard and a touchscreen entertainment system.
