Touch Storm
Smaller
Chinese two-wheeler makers are slowly penetrating the Indian market tying up
with local companies, but most manufacturers are still on the waiting list in
order to commence operations. The latest to join the same is ‘Royal Touch
Motors’ that is now planning to introduce an onslaught of Chinese motorcycles
and scooters in the country. Developed by ZNEN (the motorcycle business of the
China Zhongneng Vehicle Group), the two-wheeler maker is all set to launch the
Storm cruiser priced at Rs. 96,525.
Likely
to be the cheapest cruiser offering in the country, Royal Touch Motors’ website
states that the Storm is powered by a 124.6c c single-cylinder engine that
produces 12 PS at 9000 RPM and 9 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM. The top speed is
rated at 90 km/hr on the cruiser. In terms of dimensions, the Storm measures
2225 mm in length, 790 mm in width and 1100 mm in height. The bike gets the
classic cruiser styling to boast off coupled with alloy wheels, twin exhausts
and beaded twin seats.
The
Royal Touch Storm comes with a fuel tank capacity of 13-litres and a kerb
weight of 155 kgs. The ground clearance stands at 130 mm while stopping
performance comes courtesy of a front disc and rear drum brake setup. The
cruiser comes with an overload of chrome while colour option available at
present is only black. There are no details on the fuel efficiency figure of
the motorcycle.
Royal
Touch Motors originates from Aurangabad, Maharashtra and has a tie-up with ZNEN
Group of China. The former will be handling the sales and servicing of the new
products and interestingly plans to introduce products in both petrol and CNG
options. It is not clear as yet if the Storm will be locally manufactured or
assembled being brought via the CKD route.
