Hero Xtreme 200 S ABS

Hero has finally done it this time. After keeping things under the wrap very tightly this time around, the motorcycles that has have been revealed today at the Auto Expo are noteworthy. While other may be hardcore concepts, this new Xtreme 200 S certainty isn’t one. Yes, the Xtreme is back with a lot of punch that it packs underneath.

Hero says the Xtreme is Shaped along the form of a ‘Cheetah’ and is further accentuated by aggressive styling elements. The compact packaging of mechanical elements like mono-shock, engine alignment, footrest and muffler cover make the center of gravity lower. Hero hints towards a light weight construction of this motorcycle.

Aerodynamics have been worked upon the Xtreme 200 S. Hero says that the tank shrouds and engine belly fairing have been designed to run the engine as cooler as possible. Figures are are not out of the dimensions but we expect it surely to be lighter as the chassis and suspension that has been used should provide the same.

Powered by an air cooled, single cylinder, 4-stroke 200 cc engine, the Xtreme 200 S delivers power of 18.6 PS at 8500 RPM and torque of 17.2 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gear box. Built on the single down tube diamond type chassis design, the Xtreme 200 S features rear mono suspension, front and rear disc brakes and LED lights. Prices have not been annouced yet, we expect it to under cut the Apache, its brand new rival, substantially.
