Icona Neo Concept city car
Best known for its crazy Vulcano
supercar concept, Icona has displayed the all-electric Neo Concept city car at
Paris' Festival Automobile International 2016.
The car was originally unveiled at last
year's Shanghai auto show and gives as a glimpse at how an accessible,
efficient and affordable model from the company could look like.
The compact city car uses a drivetrain
sourced from ACTUA and Italian firm Italtechnica. It incorporates four
individual electric motors and a large battery pack delivering a total of 28
hp.
In spite of this output, Icona claims
that the Neo can reach a top speed of 120 km/h and has a range of
about 150 km thanks in part to its low 720 kg kerb weight.
Moreover, while measuring just 3.4
metres long, 1.5 metres high, is 1.63 metres wide and with a tiny 2.2 metre
wheelbase, the company claims it can seat four adults in comfort.
It's unclear when and if the car will
reach the production line but if that happens, its edgy design will bring
something fresh to the often-bland city car segment.
