New Smart ForTwo Cabrio Brabus
Mercedes-Benz Cars has confirmed a
Geneva debut, on March 1, for the new Smart ForTwo Cabrio Brabus.
The announcement was made in a release
that focused on the C-Class Cabrio and stated that the new sporty edition of
the city car will join other models in the manufacturer's lineup at the Swiss
event.
Details on the "pocket rocket"
are tucked away for now, but scooped prototypes revealed visual differences in
the bumpers, along with a two-pipe exhaust system. Updates should be performed
inside too, where sportier seats, upgraded instrument panel and unique
trimmings are to be expected.
The new Smart ForTwo Cabrio Brabus will
continue to share the underpinnings of the Coupe and it is believed to sport a
1.2-liter turbo, rated at somewhere between 110 hp and 130 hp, or a tuned version
of the 0.9-liter three-cylinder unit. Transmission options will include a
manual and a dual-clutch automatic.
The Brabus Smart lineup will expand beyond
the new ForTwo Cabrio and it will also include an iteration of the Coupe and
its own version of the ForFour. Full details on the drop-top will be announced
in less than two weeks, in Switzerland.
