Seat Ateca Cupra
It only took a few days for
a beefed up, imaginary Seat Ateca to pop up on our screens. Besides adopting a
new white color, which was also used on the body cladding, the hypothetical
Ateca Cupra was rendered with a slightly lowered suspension, black-finished
roof and side mirror caps and different design for the wheels that hide the red
brake calipers with Cupra lettering.
In theory, a Cupra version
could get a 2.0-liter turbo from the Leon Cupra 290. In its current form it
produces 286 hp and 350 Nm of torque, capable of propelling
the hot hatch to 100 km/h in around 5.7 seconds, with a dual-clutch
automatic, and up to a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
If Seat ever considers such
a model, then the flexible MQB platform, on which the Ateca is based, could
produce the company's first ever AWD Cupra.
