Tata Nexon
Tata Motors today unveiled the
production version of the upcoming Tata Nexon compact SUV at the ongoing Auto
Expo 2016.
The Nexon features a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-liter
diesel engine. Details are available only regarding the diesel variant which
makes 110 PS and produces 260 Nm of peak torque.
The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual
transmission gearbox with three drive modes. Shod with 16 inch alloy wheels and
dual path suspension, the compact SUV has a ground clearance of 200 mm and
features an electric power assisted steering setup.
The Tata Nexon follows the company’s
next-generation ‘Impact Design’ philosophy, the Nexon’s fascia gets “Chrome
Humanity Line” on the upper grille, projector headlamps with DRLs, LED
taillights with chrome accents, a rising beltline and a floating roof.
Everything from the upper grille to the beltline finisher is customisable, Tata
Motors says.
Inside, the Nexon gets a 6.5-inch
touchscreen infotainment system and 8 speakers for audio output. Voice control
and command recognition are also available. When launched, the Tata Nexon will
rival the Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
